File privacy

Kiwi6 supports three levels of privacy at the file level.
Public Everyone can see and listen to your track. Search engines will crawl your page.
Unlisted Everyone who has the link can see and listen to your track. Search engines will not be able to crawl the page.
Private Only you can see and listen to the track. Search engines will not be able to crawl the page.

Files in the directory are always public.

Hiding files from public view

Use the Private option to prevent anyone except you from using a file.

Use the Unlisted option to hide the file from search engines, but still enable hotlinking and downloading by anyone who knows the URL. Unlisted files will not show up on your user profile.

What is Hotlinking?

Hotlinking or direct linking is referencing files (pictures, mp3s) from a site other than the one that is hosting them. An example is using an <img> tag to display a picture so it will appear on your own site. Kiwi6 allows hotlinking of uploaded files for personal use.
