Welcome to the Vickers Tree.

This site invites you to participate in a journey into Shamanic consciousness, while learning to appreciate a reverence for life - a nature connected life.  I welcome you to share this time to experiment in the quantum field as a student of the many mysteries of life.  Presently, I am completing my studies in Master Shamanism and will be bringing Shaman Elders onto the show to assist in our understanding and development.

Let us take a moment to make some considerations.

Every action is a response to a thought. Thoughts create emotions. Emotions stimulate the desire for action.

As you read these words do you reflect, consider and understand what drives you? It took a long time for me to truly understand the natural direction that exists within my own personal journey.

So, why this deep consideration? I would like you to let your mind wander as you peruse my page. Ask yourself ‘What does she have to offer that is so different from all those other sites?’ When you answer that question you just might be ready to listen to what it is I have to share with you.  It might also be the next right move for you to make.

Please check my website if you find something that resonates with you. Please ask me more questions. REVIEW again or participate right from here.  What I'm asking is that you make the next move that is right with you and your feelings.

I hope very much that what I intend to share is the next step on your journey.

Shamanism

January 10, 2010
Healing the earth, stepping into our power to make change. How Shamanic connection can work to heal ourselves and the world around us. My guests this week are Azra a shaman of "The Four Winds Society" and Miss Magikal a wonderful musician who will be sharing a live drumming with us. I have two additional songs from Miss Magikal also to share with you. I just know you will enjoy both of these warm beautiful women and the energy they bring to any room. Both these friends are also members of the GoldRing. Azra shared this poem with us as a way of introducing herself: In the deep abyss of the dark night of my soul, Blinded in sight by my very might, The purple light returned so bright As it was, In the beginning, Before I embarked upon This incredible journey. ~ Azra ~ We will be active in the discovery of who Azra is as she reveals to us the meaning of this insight.

Azra is a practicing Shaman who is currently a student in the Sage Program with The Four Winds Society. While recovering from a severe illness which rendered her blind for a period of approximately 2 years, Azra became acutely aware of the world of energy and its potential for healing. After becoming a Reiki Master, twice over, she realized that she was searching for more in depth study and found this when, through a series of synchronistic events, she connected with the all encompassing teachings of The Four Winds Society. Founded by Albert Villoldo, Ph.D., a psychologist and medical anthropologist, the School provides a scientific framework through which you learn the ancient Inka’s art of energy medicine. This shamanic work represents an ancient formula for transformation by shedding the past that restrains us. Indigenous healers have always understood that we live in a world of energy ~ all matter around us and within us is energy in motion. Our energetic field, referred to as the Luminous Energy Field by the Ancient Inka, contains the architectural blueprints which create and inform our physical form, the template of how we live, how we age, how we heal and how we might die. In order to heal deeply from illness and emotional issues, one needs to release these imprints from the energetic field. By using techniques such as Illumination, Soul Retrieval and Extraction, Azra works with clients to assist them in removing energy and re-writing self-limiting contracts that no longer serve them. By shifting, clearing and transforming these “dense” energies with light, the Luminous Energy Field can re-pattern the physical, emotional body and soul back to a state of wellness. In this way Shamanism can infuse one with the full spectrum of energy, joy and health which is our birthright. This form of Shamanism allows one to re-connect with your soul, experience the joy of life, open your heart and ground yourself to Mother Earth. By releasing the blocks that keep you from the miracle that you are, Azra can help to guide you to creating your own reality and dreaming the life that you want into being. Take one small step and the journey of a lifetime begins.
The morning seemed by all appearances to be an ordinary day. Husband left for work and I snuggled down in the covers. It was snowing outside, again. It is quite an enchanting place in the snow, my backyard. It is presently filled with a huge snow drift that refused to melt even in the warm weather we just enjoyed. There is a well worn trail connecting house to the horses sheds. When you peruse the ground there is a fluffy, fresh dusting of snow. As beautiful as this distraction is I'm excited to see my horses. There is excitement half way there. My dogs are barking at the horses not sure why.  The horses are all perky and flying around the ground. I hadn't noticed what had gotten them going. It was only when I was feeding the grain and my sensitive thoroughbred got my attention enough that I saw the moose. This was a very high level connection to the beauty which is my life. For me it is the animals that create the song of the universe for me. My being able to practice the art of actively seeing comes most easily in their presence.  My horses high energy dance with the sky lights my heart with emotion. It is incredible really, how horses speak with their body in motion and we the observer  get to discover what it is in this private conversation. So breathless in the memory of that moment as I relate this  to you I have not stated the point of the impression I have been given.A new totem has appeared for me, "The  Moose."From Ted Andrews Book "Animals Speak" I found the;Keynote: Primal Feminine Energies and the Magic of Life and DeathCycle of Power: Late Fall and Early Winter The Time of Approaching ShadowsMoose is one of the most ancient and most unique of the power totems. Moose was connected to Raven by Athapaskan hunters of Alaska as they used, Raven who created the world to aid them in having the Moose to appear. "So when Moose appears it was considered a special and sacred gift. The moose is an animal of contradiction physically awkward yet graceful. Heavy head, muscular body it doesn't seem capable of agility. Yet it moves across difficult terrain easily. Ted states; "That people with Moose totem will find the same contradictory feeling stirred in other about them."The moose is a solitary animal except through breeding season. Moose is able to use territory of grassy plane, lake, pond or forest equally.  People with this totem are able to do the same.Moose is know for it's uncanny ability to camouflage in this it is related to the gift of invisibility and shapeshifting. This is a ancient mythology related to Merlin also.Moose navigates easily despite it's size and it is because they have great depth perception. It is associated with water because the moose is often seen feeding in marshland and swamps. Here the  symbiosis is to the water of the earth is also considered the womb of the universe.  Moose teaches to go back to the depths and draw new life  and nourishment from it. Moose teaches to move from the outer world to the inner world and how to cross from life to death and back to a stronger life. This information brought forward and shared in this time line for  me and my studies in Shamanic Medicine is very insightful to me. Presently, it is my work to understand my mediumship and make the conscious connections with the other world available to me.My studies of the energies  at work  in our world now are of the compassionate and creative feminine another signature of connecting to planet and universal truths.Moose also has a highly developed sense of smell and highly developed sense of hearing.  The sense of smell has it spiritual and metaphysical counterparts in emotional idealism and spiritual discernment. Hearing lends to the human the abilities of clairaudience and spiritual comprehension. The moose aligns with the individual it is suggesting they pay attention to that inner voice and sense of smell. *(Animals Speak page 287-288)Moose are born with eyes open in this reference the person with this totem will have come into the world with eyes open. They can become confused when working with people who are asking them when the inner lights came on. These people must learn to trust their abilities. This information on Moose is both exciting new and  of course an inner reflective knowing for me as a student in Shamanic studies. Moose  is an pathway to exploration in the self as to the depths of awareness and to develop the sensitivity within and throughout your environments.

www.jockthemovie.com*A Leg Up – Diane Crump – 40^th Anniversary of the Kentucky Derby - 2010*At four years old, I rode my first pony at a carnival.  From that second forward, I was smitten by the horse bug.  It was /in me.  /I drew horse heads on everything.Driven to have my own horse, I worked and saved every cent.  In the summer, I would paint people’s furniture, clean, deliver newspapers, whatever it took.  I put up posters for jobs at feed and tack stores.  I started a riding club.  By the time I was 12, I had saved $140, enough for a horse. One day while riding my horse, I noticed a road called Race Track Road that led into a horse track.  All of a sudden, the fascination to ride on that track hit me just like my first pony ride.  I was possessed.  I rode my horse every day until I could find a way to get in and gallop around that track. My first real job at age 13 was on a Florida race horse farm owned by an Italian man who loved racing.  I convinced him to smuggle me in to that local race track…kids under 16 weren’t allowed.  He introduced me to a trainer and I started washing water buckets and cleaning stalls, thrilled to be there.  There were no women around, but since I was just a kid, everyone was friendly to me.  I blended in.  I started riding the horses.  I learned to gallop…and reached the point where I was pretty decent.  But as time went by, I wanted to /ride in a race/./  /It had never been a real possibility for any woman.  Only men rode races. All the women riders wanted to ride, not just gallop.  Since I had been galloping horses for several years, I was certainly competent to ride.  I found out that Olympic rider Kathy Kushner had taken legal action because the race track officials wouldn’t allow her to ride in pari-mutuel races.  A group of women lawyers donated their time and effort to her fight because they felt /they /had been discriminated against in the law profession.  They thought it was horrible that Kathy could ride in the Olympics but not in a race.As soon as I heard the results of the case, I decided to go for a license.  I had never thought it possible.  I applied at Churchill Downs racetrack.  One other girl obtained a license too.  The very last day of the meet, she was supposed to ride a race.  They moved her race to the last one because everybody was up in arms about a woman riding.  The trainers, the other jockeys, the fans, people on the backside, everybody thought it was insane that a woman would be allowed to ride in a race.  In the end, the riders boycotted her…if /she /rode, /they/ wouldn’t.Another boycott came at Tropical Park in Miami and the stewards at Hialeah were infuriated.  They insisted Hialeah Race Course would not put up with that behavior. The day came that I was finally named on a horse at Hialeah Race Course on Feb. 7, 1969.  Luckily I am just one of those people that don’t get upset or nervous.  I didn’t pay attention to the heckling both bad and good I might add.  I looked straight ahead as I was escorted to the paddock with tight security.  I introduced myself to the trainer who I had never met and shook his hand.  He gave me instructions, a leg up and a pat on my leg.  You’re in a touch spot he said.  He knew my horse didn’t belong and the odd’s board at 50 to 1 reflected that.  Still this was my dream and I wanted to follow my orders and give him the best ride I could.  My first race ever!  I was a jockey at last!Little by little, women were gaining acceptance on the race track.  It took me ten years to be considered even half way equal to the male riders.  For the first few many of the men seemed to hate us.Eventually everyone realized that in this sport of horse racing it’s hard to win no matter who you are.  It takes hard work and perseverance.  You’re out there at 5 a.m. getting on as many horses as you can every morning, struggling.  As a woman I would have to gallop 20 horses to get named on one in a race.  And that would be one nobody else wanted to ride.  That went on for years and it’s still not equal.  The fact that I was consistent and humble helped me I believe.  I didn‘t have anything bad to say.  I loved what I did and worked hard every day 7 days a week 365 days a year.  I rode whatever I could.  It took the steady grind to gain acceptance. In 1970 I made history as the first woman to ever ride in the Kentucky Derby 40 years ago this year.  The atmosphere at the Kentucky Derby is electric, an experience unto itself.  What a week!  Mr. Brown the owner of Fathom came up to me as polite as any Southern gentleman could be.  “Would you be kind enough to ride my horse in the Derby?”  I couldn’t believe it.  A millionaire, very successful in the whiskey distillery business, asking me to ride his horse in the Kentucky Derby.  Oh yes, of course I wanted to ride in the Derby!  It was an emotional thrill even if I didn’t win, but I wasn’t last either. My brother on the other side of the world in the trenches of Viet Nam listening to the Armed Forces Network radio station was astonished that his sister had just ridden in the Kentucky Derby. After many years of riding, I suffered my big injury, the one that could keep me from riding.  I had a lot of injuries over the years, but not like this one.  I got pinned under my horse and the bones in my left leg were fractured and my ankle was crushed.  My prognosis was never to ride again.  Laid up in bed, I was contacted by a wonderful organization, the Don McBeth Foundation.  They offered to pay my medical expenses.  Phone calls and cards came pouring in from fans everywhere.  I couldn’t believe the support and love coming my way, so I decided to try to race once more.  My doctor warned me not to do it.  With braces on my legs, I looked like a bionic woman on my horse!  A few years went by and I knew I had to stop.  The pain was too much to bear.In 1994 a couple of the owners that I trained for at the Middleburg Training Center in Middleburg, VA decided to send a few yearlings and two year olds in training to the various sales at Saratoga.  They asked me to take them as agent.  One of them came by to tell me that the trotting track across from Saratoga was on strike.  They were renting stalls for the Saratoga meet.  This was a great opportunity for me since everything I had in training was 2 and 3 yr. first time starters.  There was no way I’d ever be able to get stalls on the grounds, but this would actually give me the opportunity to get to race at Saratoga as a trainer and ride there as a jockey too.  At that time I was riding the horses I trained as my own jockey both in Maryland and Delaware.  It had never been done at Saratoga, but it was legal to do so.  When I got there and went to apply for both licenses, they looked at me like I was out of my mind.  I was interrogated by the head of the racing commission for over 4 hours to find a reason that I should not be able to ride the horses that I trained.  To their dismay they could find no reason to prevent this from happening.  Reluctantly, I was granted both licenses and I walked out with my valet after being weighed in and saddled the horse that I trained.  My valet waited a minute for me and gave me a leg up as the paddock judge gave the order for riders up!I  spent a lifetime devoted to horses and decided to put my knowledge to use in equine sales, helping others pursue their dreams.  For me, my dream was fulfilled on every ride…on every horse that was competitive, giving me everything, riding toward a win…knowing the power under you is trying just as hard as you are.
