New StatisticsStatistics, previously a premium-only feature, is now available to all users. It's also been redesigned to be more readable. Users can now also see their statistics in an account-wide summary. We have more detailed reporting available for paying users scheduled for this February.
New File ManagerThe file manager has been refreshed, providing an easier way to edit files and folders. This update also introduces drag-and-drop moving and a way to quickly get links for all selected items.
Kiwi6 in more languagesKiwi6 has also been updated to support languages other than English. This process is ongoing and we'll be adding missing translations as well as new languages over time.
Other ChangesWe've also made hundreds of small changes to improve performance, fix reported bugs, support mobile devices, and improve the UI and navigation elements. Enjoy!
We're excited to announce album support for all artists, available immediately.
To get started, click the Create Album link on your artist page.
Playlists and artist browse pages now feature new sort options to help users discover the best content on the site. The scoring algorithm will continue to be tweaked until there is a good balance between surfacing quality content and promoting new tracks.
New features to aid in navigation and discovery will continue to be rolled out this month.
Today we're introducing account integration with Google's federated login system. If your existing Kiwi6 account uses a Gmail address, you'll begin being able to use Google's one-click system to login immediately. Just look for the button that looks like this:
We also sped up some of our backend systems to improve website performance. On average, this has improved response times from the website by about 25% on average.
A misconfiguration caused some incoming emails to be severely delayed for the past 3 weeks. We are now processing support emails in the order that they were received, but response times will be longer than usual until the backlog has been cleared.
We recently rolled out a new playback experience on Kiwi6, one which puts the media player at the bottom of the screen. In addition to reducing clutter on pages with multiple playable songs, this makes the behavior more consistent across the site and lays the groundwork for more features. As a bonus, we've added back the volume slider that went missing when we rolled out the new Kiwi6 in August of last year.
We also added back the old Embed code for users who prefer that version.
